This takes place after the previous blog entry (Turkeys, Mikuláš, Menorahs, and Yuletide). And that was posted today! This afternoon, as a matter of fact. It was posted today because yesterday was the last evening of Hanukkah.
So, imagine my surprise when today, on the ninth day of Hanukkah, the fourth day of Christmas, or the third day of Kwanzaa (which according to Wikipedia is called "Ujima," and if you want to know what that is, there's always Google.)
Tonight while Mom was making dinner the doorbell rang and there was a UPS driver returning to his truck. There was a box there...
And in that box was the Buzz Lightyear!
Just like the movie, this Buzz has kung-fu action, pop-out wings, a helmet that slides back, and looks like and sounds like the Buzz from the movie.
Now, if you'll excuse me, a friend and I have to go watch Toy Story.
For those of you bothering to read this post-script, the saddest part about this special delivery is that the gift itself was actually ordered after Christmas and on the last day of Hanukkah. Through the magic of quick deliveries via Amazon (it shipped from Kansas) and arrived the next day!
It just so happened that Dad randomly decided Tuesday morning that I needed to have my very own Buzz since I had become so infatuated with the movie Toy Story over the Winter Break. After a trip around town with me to go and look for this mythical toy, he gave-up and ordered online.
Why did he decide to get me another toy after receiving so many already?
Because he's awesome. That's why.
